ATP vows to look into report of TEN-SECOND-OLD BEATING girlfriend in viral video

The ATP has said it will look into claims that Mercedes-Benz Tennis Champions star Alexander Zverev abused his girlfriend in a video that has been viewed more than 6 million times on social media.

In the video, the 20-year-old German can be seen slapping his girlfriend, his former tennis girlfriend, during a car ride, with some lyrics from Migos’ hit ‘Bad and Boujee’ along with the video.

Dhanana Minassian, who posts as Tay and is dating Zverev, posted the video on Instagram and then tweeted it on Sunday.

Tay wrote: “Sucks to be me when you do something so stupid with someone you love, you know you shouldn’t.”

In a statement to, the ATP said: “We are aware of a video posted by a female tennis fan on social media. We are in the process of gathering more information and will follow that process as warranted.

“Any incident of this nature is always considered very serious and in line with the ATP Tour’s code of conduct. The ATP and the court operator (ATP Tour Operations) are in the process of speaking with all parties.

“To the extent that we are able to share information today, it will be provided to you in that regard.”

That is the same position held by tournament organizer Erika Schammbach, who is responsible for controlling ticket-selling, monitoring social media usage and ensuring Zverev avoids expulsion from the event.

“We are aware of the video,” she told NBC Sports. “We take all videos very seriously and are in the process of speaking with the court operator and also the alleged victim as well.”

Schammbach, a finalist in the last two tournaments in Stuttgart and Madrid, also posted a short statement on Twitter saying: “I appreciate the concern and dialogue, but it would be premature to make any other comment at this point until we can all get more information.”

Zverev and Minassian have been dating since 2012 and have an 18-month-old son.

Zverev, the world No. 5, lost to Marin Cilic in the semifinals last week at the French Open and is the top seed for the ATP Finals on seeding basis. He was defeated by Alexander Zverev 5-7, 7-6, 6-3 in the semi-finals last week at the French Open.
