On Tuesday’s edition of GB News, it was Eamonn Holmes’ first broadcast after accepting the host position at ITV. Holmes had in previous years co-hosted ITV’s This Morning with wife Ruth Langsford and is now heading to a brand new presenting gig.

The presenter was last seen on This Morning in December where he shared his New Year’s resolutions with his fellow co-hosts.

Hitting the airwaves for the first time, Holmes was more than happy to update his fans. “At last! It’s not been the most exciting few weeks but I am glad to be back at work. Tuesday’s show will be my first show in two months,” the 63-year-old said.

Sporting thick spectacles, Holmes revealed that he is in the process of having his eyes fixed. “I have to see a doctor now to get my spectacles fixed so I can see,” he said.

A friend of the iconic presenter said he feels “like his career has started again,” and that he has the opportunity to work with a number of popular programs.

Following his stint on The One Show, Evans co-hosted BBC One’s Wake Up To Wogan, then was co-host of BBC One’s Breakfast.
